Dallas Cowboy linebacker, Sean Lee may have cost himself $2 million dollars today by electing not to play in the season finale. His $2.5 million dollar salary would have increased to $4.5 million if he played in 80% of the Cowboy's defensive plays this season. By not playing today, he will have appeared in 77% of the plays, a few percentage points below the bonus.
Sean has been battling injuries that last few weeks. He decided not to play because he did not think he was ready to contribute. "It didn't feel like I was going to be effective enough to help the football team... I'm not going to disrespect my teammates and my coaches and be out there not playing the right way" Lee said. What would you have done with that much money on the line?
